hyamei: “little Lotus girls” During my days in elementary school, one of the things they taught us in our Buddhist teachings class that would never forget was about the Lotus flower. They say the reason why the Lotus is the symbol of purity is because even if they grow in murky waters they sprout above the water still pure and clean. So I can picture this flower like little innocent children carelessly playing around a murky pond :)
